![]() ![]() ![]() Check that the orange wire is not connected to the constant +12V supply, as you could run down the vehicle‟s battery. The red wire of the kit‟s cable must correspond to the constant +12V supply, the orange wire to the ignition +12V and the black wire to ground. ![]() What about retaining settings? Do you find that it loses any previous settings everytime you turn off the key? Have a look at the manual if you still have it. If it goes blank straight away when you turn the key off then the two leads are connected the wrong way around. Strange, yeah the screen should stay on for about 5 sec after you turn off the key, come up with 'goodbye' and then go blank. Mine never says bye, just turns off, but never had any issues with draining battery, even if i'm away for prolonged periods. I'll let you all know once it's in and working. Don't want to advertise the fact that I've got it installed to tea leaves. Think I've settled on the mki9100 as the screen will fit in the pop-out panel where the ash tray once lived. Had no idea these Parrots were so versatile! I thought I'd have to pop the radio out every time I needed to update the firmware for a new handset or whatever, turns out you just pop the update onto a USB drive, starrt it up and tell it to update. There is a SOT069B patch on autoleads catalogue, I guess thats for the post '06 cars, but I only just found this out by googling the part no. Speccy B, if yours is post '06 then I think two of the pin-outs are different due to the fact you already have a line input on the unit. I've got OEM sub and sat nav in mine, so getting the connectors in the right order will be imperative. ![]() Thanks Counterflow, this info is gold dust. If you have a subwoofer fitted, ensure the parrot lead is fitted 'upstream' of the subwoofer connection, otherwise the sub won't mute with the speakers. The way to test is that after a short delay the screen should say 'goodbye' and then go blank when you switch off the ign (as opposed to just going blank straight away). If you don't the parrot will be permanently on and drain your battery. It's explained in the Parrot instal guide and involves reversing the 2 push fit type cables. Also, when u fit it you will need to change the red and yellow cables around. ![]()
